Efektifitas Pilates Exercise untuk Mengurangi Lingkar Perut pada Obesitas: A Critical Review

Abstract

Latar belakang: Obesitas adalah suatu efek ketidaksetaraan antara pemasukan energi lebih banyak dari energi yang dikeluarkan pada waktu yang lama. Prevalensi obesitas pada penduduk umur >18 Tahun di Indonesia yakni 21,8 persen. Obesitas tersebut paling banyak terjadi di Sulawesi Utara dengan prevalensi 30,2%. Sementara itu, prevalensi obesitas terendah di Nusa Tenggara Timur yakni 10,3%. Upaya Fisioterapi dalam menurunkan berat badan adalah dengan latihan Pilates Exercise. Pilates exercise adalah latihan strengthening dan stretching otot-otot core yaitu perut dan punggung yang mempunyai tujuan meningkatkan kekuatan otot, dan fleksibilitas otot pada perut. Tujuan: menganalisis dan mengkritisi efektifitas pilates exercise untuk mengurangi lingkar perut pada penderita obesitas. Metode: penelitian ini menggunakan metode critical review yang menelaah penelitian sebelumnya terkait pilates exercise untuk mengurangi lingkar perut pada penderita obesitas dan direview menggunakan PEDro scale. Hasil: berdasarkan data yang diperoleh dari 6 artikel dengan jenis randomized controlled trial (RCT). Dilanjutkan dengan menentukan penilaian bias menggunakan PEDro scale yang tertera pada Tabel.1 dengan interpretasi yaitu apabila nilai total 0-4 poin memiliki tingkat bias yang tinggi, nilai total 5-8 poin berarti memiliki tingkat bias sedang dan apabila nilai total 9-10 memiliki tingkat bias rendah. Terdapat 1 artikel yang memiliki skor 5/10 (bias sedang), 4 artikel yang memiliki 6/10 (bias sedang), serta 1 artikel yang memiliki skor 8/10 (bias sedang). Kesimpulan: berdasarkan hasil critical review dari 6 artikel terpilih, pilates exercise terbukti dalam menurunkan mengurangi lingkar perut pada penderita obesitas.
